Stuckeman School statement on COVID-19 outbreak

Update 3/18/2020: Based on evolving federal guidance and statewide mitigation plans announced by Gov. Tom Wolf around the growing coronavirus pandemic and the global efforts underway to stop its spread, Penn State has extended the remote-delivery period for all classes through at least the spring semester. Additionally, spring commencement ceremonies will be postponed while the University explores options for celebrating the achievements of our students. STORY

How does that affect our Stuckeman School community?

Our students and their families
We understand that the studio environment presents challenges to remote learning and are mindful of the hard work and long hours our students often put in with each other throughout the semester. Therefore, to assist both our undergraduate and graduate students in completing their work during this period of remote instruction, the studios within the Stuckeman Family Building and Borland Building were open March 14-15 to allow students to collect supplies and equipment they will need.

At this point, students should remain home and follow the guidelines of the communities in which they live regarding social distancing. Students will be contacted by the University about gathering their belongings from campus. The most current information can be found at

Our faculty
Our department heads have reached out to faculty members via email with instructions for online class delivery. In addition, the College of Arts and Architecture website will also be a good source for information:

Our staff

Per B. Stephen Carpenter, dean of the College of Arts and Architecture, all School staff will be working remotely during the time of remote learning (unless otherwise notified).

Our events
All School events through the end of the semester have been canceled or postponed.

Thank you for your understanding and patience with us as we navigate and adjust our School operations during this unprecedented time. Additional information and the latest University updates can be found at
