Julio Diarte is from Asuncion, Paraguay. He obtained his Architecture Degree in 2005 from the National University of Asuncion and his master's degree in architectural design at the Barcelona School of Architecture in 2009. Between 2005 and 2015, he worked as a practicing architect and contractor in Paraguay, and assistant construction manager in Spain and Romania. Since 2011, he is part of the Research Department at the Architecture, Design, and Arts School at the National University of Asuncion where he worked in research projects, organizing seminars, workshops, exhibitions, and representing the school in international networks. In 2015, Diarte was selected as a Fulbright Scholar and he is currently a Ph.D. candidate in architecture at the Stuckeman School. His main research interest is about the reuse of waste materials in architecture, architectural design, traditional building methods, and digital fabrication techniques.
