Education Abroad (EA) is a fast-paced and student-centered environment that serves as the locus of global program advising, policy development, program support, and records management for credit-bearing study and intern experiences abroad. The intern will gain a broad overview of EA operations and how its duties fit in to the overall global strategy of Penn State. Together with their supervisor, the marketing and outreach intern will work on projects related to: content creation and oversight of EA social media, coordination of and participation in EA outreach events, creation of EA marketing materials, or any number of other administrative tasks. This is a paid internship position that can be used for academic credit if approved by the appropriate academic department. The internship is for the spring 2020 semester with opportunities to extend to the summer 2020 term. This position would be an exciting opportunity for a current student or recent graduate interested in the field of international education. The ideal candidate will have studied abroad at the undergraduate level and have a passion for education abroad. Preference will be given to candidates who have been or are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program related to international education, higher education administration, marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design, or the like. The candidate must be able to commit 10-15 hours per week to this position, work autonomously, and take accountability for integrating themselves with the EA team. Creative approaches to project management, the ability to work with complex systems and multiple stakeholders, and a positive attitude are great assets to success in Education Abroad.
