Yolande Daniels is a co-founding design principal of Studio SUMO, an innovative architecture and design firm based in Long Island City, New York.

The practice has received grants from the New York State Council on the Arts and New York Foundation for the Arts; awards including the Emerging Voices Award, Design Vanguard Award, the League Prize, and the American Academy of Arts and Letters Architecture Award; and design excellence awards from the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, American Institute of Architects (AIA) New York City chapter, AIA New York state chapter, Chicago Athenaeum, German National Design Council, and Japan National Design Council.
