Stuckeman School professor to be featured in major MoMA exhibition
Felecia Davis, who has gained widespread recognition for her work designing lightweight textiles that change properties in response to their environment, is one of 10 architects, designers and artists that will be featured in an upcoming Museum of Modern Art show examining contemporary architecture in the context of how systemic racism has fostered violent histories of discrimination and injustice in the United States.
Architecture professor to participate in design lecture series and workshop
Felecia Davis, assistant professor of architecture and director of the Computational Textiles Lab in the Stuckeman Center for Design Computing, has been invited to participate in the upcoming Design Matters Lecture Series and Workshop at the University of Calgary.

José Duarte, director of the Stuckeman Center for Design Computing and a lead member of the Penn State team that placed second in NASA’s 3D-Printed Mars Habitat Challenge, recently participated in the 10th session of the United Nations’ World Urbanism Forum in Abu Dhabi.

Architecture doctoral candidate named John Roe Sustainability Awardee
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Julio Diarte, a doctoral candidate in architecture at Penn State, has been named a recipient of a John Roe Sustainability Award by the Sustainability Institute at Penn State.

Shadi Nazarian, associate professor of architecture and a researcher with the Stuckeman Center for Computing Design, will participate in a symposium titled “From Lab to Site: Innovations in Concrete” at the University of Michigan on Nov. 1.

Architecture graduate student to lead workshop at design computing conference
Mina Rahimian, a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in architecture with a focus on computational design and sustainability, is co-teaching a workshop as part of the Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture annual conference Oct. 24-26 at the University of Texas at Austin.

The work from the Responsive Architectural Fiber Composites course (ARCH 497) will be exhibited at the Textile Intersections Conference at University of Loughborough September 12-14 in Queen Elizabeth Park, Stratford London.
Stuckeman Center for Design Computing to hold Flash Symposium
The Stuckeman Center for Design Computing within the Penn State Stuckeman School will hold its annual Flash Symposium Sept. 23-24 in the Stuckeman Family Building in the hopes of educating attendees on new discoveries in virtual and augmented reality.
