Trio of competition wins for Stuckeman students

Alexis Arra, a second-year graphic design student, has been awarded the 2015 Gentner Verlag Special Prize by the international jury of the “Water is Life” International Student Poster Design Competition. Arra's poster was selected as one of the top 10 from more than 4,800 submissions from 81 countries.

Continuing the string of winning results in external competitions, fifth-year architecture student Meghan Tierney was awarded third place in the 114th John Stewardson Memorial Fellowship in Architecture. Jurors in that competition commented that Tierney's entry was "daring" and "beautiful," with text that "was particularly well crafted and gave insight into the designer’s motivations and intent."

Second-year post-pro M.Arch student Farah Abdel Galil achieved an outstanding result in Penn State's 30th Annual Graduate Exhibition. Galil's research poster, "Beyond Artwork (A reappraisal of textiles in architectural museum settings)," was awarded second place in the Arts & Humanities area competition.
