The 3north Summer Design Internship is an intensive 12-week experience in our Richmond, Virginia, studio that has been developed for students of advanced standing who possess the design talent, work ethic, and creative passion that we value at 3north. The program provides practical experience in a professional multi-disciplinary design environment that will enable participating students to explore many areas of interest in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, graphic design and interior design. Beyond daily work experience, the students will be exposed to diverse subjects within the business of design and to projects of varying types in different stages of development.
 
To be considered for the program, interested candidates must be entering their third or fourth year of pursuing an accredited professional design degree from a U.S. institution. Qualified individuals may submit applications beginning January 30, 2017 and must be received by 3north no later than February 28, 2017 in order to be considered. By March 4, 2017, 3north will contact selected candidates to schedule interviews. This is a paid internship. If selected, 3north will be glad to assist you in locating possible housing options for your 3-month stay in Richmond.
 
Qualified candidates must submit the following information for the 3north Summer Multi-Disciplinary Design Internship by email to Miriam Testroet at mtestroet@3north.com
  • An application letter expressing interest in the 3north Summer Multi-Disciplinary Design Internship.
  • A resume listing contact information, work experience, education, GPA, software proficiency, and other skills.
  • At least two (2) letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a design studio professor.
  • A portfolio of work samples that best illustrate your creative abilities. The portfolio must be submitted as a PDF 10mb or less.
