Internship Description: 
The Undergraduate Admissions Office at University Park is offering social media and multimedia internships for the fall 2017 semester. Interns will work with the Marketing Communications Team to produce text, photo and video content for our student blogs and social media outlets. All students are encouraged to apply, regardless of major or academic year; first-year students will be given full consideration. Academic credit is required.
Intern Responsibilities:
  • Manage the student blog section of the Admissions website at; coordinate and schedule posts with content creators;
  • Coordinate and conduct “man on the street” interviews with various audiences; known and unknown;
  • Produce original and creative text/photo/video content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram;
  • Attend hour-long weekly meetings in Shields Building to discuss content ideas;
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications required:
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Interest in producing creative, colorful and innovative multimedia content for social networks. Some photo/video experience preferred, but not required;
  • Ability to exercise professional judgement in curating and posting content for social media;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, sample blog post, and at least two blog post ideas by April 7, 2017. Sample blog post should be written on a topic of interest to prospective Penn State students. Blog post ideas should be short (no more than four sentences) and provide information on topics you would write about if selected as an Undergraduate Admissions Social Media Intern.
