The Graphic Design Intern will be based within the Capital Development division of Recreation and Parks.  The Intern will work with the department’s established graphic standards to produce identification, directional, interpretive, and trail wayfinding signage for city parks.  The intern will be integral in developing biddable sign packages and overseeing the installation of signs.  The Intern will also have the chance to design hiker/biker trail logos that may be used for trail identification and on promotional materials.  Knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and the ability to read site plans is required.

The Urban Resources Initiative Internship Program is a partnership of the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks, the Parks & People Foundation, and area universities and institutions.

  • Semester internship:  180 hours; 10-12 weeks; 15-18 hours/week
  • Most internships are unpaid; paid internships contingent upon funding and have a higher hours expectation
  • Academic credit may be applicable; see your academic advisor or internship office.
