This position is responsible for architectural design and documentation as required for projects throughout the portfolio. Architectural projects will vary in size and scope and each will require working with various departments, tenants, vendors and contractors. This position will assist the Architectural Department staff with the preparation of CADD drawings, detailing, and other tasks associated with the preparation of architectural design and construction documents, as well as other miscellaneous tasks associated with the daily work in the Architectural Department, including but not limited to, doing research, making copies, running prints, processing paper work, and other similar assignments as directed by the Director of Architecture.

  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture, or a Bachelor of Architecture or Masters Degree in Architecture, from an accredited college or university.
  • Must have zero (0) to three (3) years’ experience in an architectural or engineering office, or related experience. Position requires knowledge of architectural design, detailing and presentations. Training and mentoring will be provided.
  • Must have zero (0) to three (3) years’ experience with Microstation, AutoCAD, or other Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) application, including 3D CADD work. Training and assistance will be provided.
  • Must have strong spatial skills and the ability to translate spatial requirements into architectural design documentation.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) or similar experience with other Green Building standards, energy conservation or sustainability is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to become a Registered Architect in Pennsylvania, following completion of the requirements and guidelines for the Intern Development Program (IDP) as developed by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Graduate Architect will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Architecture, who will monitor and approve the submission of all IDP paperwork. Training and mentoring will be provided as required to meet this requirement.
  • Must be familiar with current building, life safety, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) codes.
  • Must be comfortable working independently or as part of a group in a collaborative environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines, working with leasing, legal, accounting and construction personnel, and working in a high stress environment.
  • Coordinates with Architectural Department staff for architectural design and construction document preparation for all types of facilities; including development of preliminary space plans and final design documents to accommodate tenant space requirements.
  • Coordinates with Architectural Department staff to develop and prepare presentation drawings, including but not limited to colored site and floor plans, elevations, sections, CADD generated 3D renderings, hand sketches, and other similar or related documents.
  • Reviews existing conditions as part of preliminary design phase.
  • Prepares detailed drawings for development and architectural projects.
  • Assists other Departments with projects as required or as directed.
  • Participates in construction phase activities including but not limited to submittal review, walk-throughs and punch lists.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining building standard details.
  • Assist with the preparation of architectural specifications as directed by Architectural Department Staff.
  • Coordinates with others in the Architectural Department.
  • Participates in the development and integration of architectural CADD software and processes to improve efficiencies.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the employees and external contractors.
