Our award-winning international architectural design studio invites talented, aspiring architects to join our team. Opportunities will include wide-ranging exposure to project design and management, research, presentations, 3D modeling, and physical model-building.
Ideal candidates must thrive in our fast-paced creative environment; be self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized; and work effectively both as an individual and collaborative team member. Strong design, graphic, and communication skills are essential. Computer skills must include AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; Rhino and/or Revit are highly desirable; and 3D Studio Max is a plus. Strong physical model building skills and demonstrated commitment to environmental stewardship are expected.
Located in New Haven, Connecticut overlooking the historic Green, Pickard Chilton practices internationally to deliver recognized design excellence. Working exclusively as Design Architects, we collaborate with experienced Architects of Record for all our projects. Our close-knit and talented design studio of 50 professionals collaborates in a creative, team-based environment to realize projects diverse in scale, program and geographic location. Designers have the opportunity to gain a broad range of professional experience – from competition through Construction Administration phases. Our project team approach allows all members to meaningfully participate in and contribute to the design process.
Current projects include state-of-the-art corporate headquarters, commercial office towers, academic facilities, mixed-use complexes, luxury hotels and residential towers in cities such as Austin, Calgary, Cambridge, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami, Oklahoma City, Richmond, Remscheid (Germany), Seattle, Tampa, Tokyo (Japan), and Washington, DC.
In recognition of the firm’s commitment to an employee-focused studio culture, Pickard Chilton was one of three practices nationally to receive the AIA IDP Outstanding Firm Award for 2009–2012. Our Summer Intern Development program includes targeted training seminars and field trips to architecturally significant sites, as well as office social events.
