A Design Planner II performs comprehensive design projects requiring knowledge of specialized areas of city planning and design. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.

On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:
Experience: Have two years of experience performing urban and landscape design work.
- A master's degree in architecture or landscape architecture certified by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) or the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB) or a similar accrediting body.
- One year of experience in performing urban and landscape design work.
The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience as presented on your application and as they relate to the requirements of the position. You may be required to complete supplemental questions to further examine specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities of the position. Therefore, it is important that you provide complete and accurate information on your application.
