The National Park Service Midwest Regional Office (MWRO) is beginning a search for a suitable candidate for a 9 month Student Conservation Association (SCA) internship, serving as an "Asset Preservation Associate."  The internship will focus on collecting data on Midwest Region cultural landscapes for the Facility Management Software System (FMSS) database.  The goal  is to integrate cultural landscapes data into FMSS, so that their stabilization and preservation maintenance needs can be adequately identified, funded, and implemented.

A suitable candidate would have a bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Landscape Architecture, Historic Preservation or Horticulture, with a particular interest in the preservation of cultural landscapes.  The internship is based out of MWRO in Omaha, Nebraska and involves research, some field work, data collection, and data management.  SCA compensation includes a living, housing and transportation stipend.  The start date is negotiable, but could be as soon as a mandatory background security check is completed.

MWRO would like to hear from anyone potentially interested in the internship and contact Roberta Young, MWR LCS/CLI Coordinator at roberta_young@nps.gov to indicate your interest.
