Caitlin specializes in the planning and design of broad-scale landscapes, focusing on landscape systems and the regional context for design. She comes to Penn State after working at O2 Planning + Design in Calgary, Alberta Canada – where she contributed to both the planning and design studios. During her time at O2, Caitlin worked on projects at all scales, from green roofs and plazas in downtown Calgary, to conservation master plans for entire regions in Central Alberta and Nova Scotia. While she enjoys being engaged in design at all scales, Caitlin is driven by what design can bring to landscape-scale conservation efforts, especially on public lands. She has worked on conservation projects at the National Park Service in Washington, DC, and for Parks Canada in Alberta. Caitlin has a great affinity for map design and visualization. She integrates tools such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Mapbox Studio, and Mapublisher into her mapping and visualization projects and is always exploring new ways to symbolize landscape data.

Caitlin teaches Larch 121: Landscape Architecture Orientation Seminar, and is an instructor in Penn State’s Geodesign program. In addition to teaching, Caitlin works as a GIS consultant for non-profits, individuals, and government organizations across the United States.
