Martino Stierli, Curator of Architecture and Design for MoMA will speak on Wednesday, April 20, at 6:00 p.m. as part of the Stuckeman School lecture series. This event is free and open to the public.
Martino Stierli is the Philip Johnson Chief Curator of Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and holds a Swiss National Science Foundation professorship at the Institute of Art History at the University of Zurich. He is the author of Las Vegas in the Rearview Mirror: The City in Theory, Photography, and Film (Los Angeles: Getty Research Institute, 2013); co-curator of the international traveling exhibition, “Las Vegas Studio: Images from the Archives of Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown,” and co-editor of the exhibition catalog of the same title (Zurich: Scheidegger & Spiess, 2008, 2nd edition, 2015). Stierli’s research focuses on the intersection of architecture and media, the representation of modern space, and on the genealogy of postmodernism.
